The aircraft was sold as scrap at RAF Binbrook and had it's wings cut for transportation by road to the Central Bottling Co at Rossington near Doncaster.

It was put into storage along with nine other ex:- RAF Binbrook Lightning aircraft.

It was later donated back to members of the old Grimsby Aircraft Preservation Group and moved to Peaks Top Farm until the relocation to LINCAIR.

Although it's original wings were cut we have now obtained a replacement pair.
